Total Balance!

Are you ready to take responsibility for your life?

Hi, my name is Danielle!

Hi, my name is Danielle!

As long as I can remember I’ve always wanted people to be happy - this is my motivation for creating Totally In Balance. My dream is to create a place where you can learn how to live a healthy and happy life through the principles of Ayurveda and Yoga. I fell in love with both disciplines quickly after being introduced to them and knew it would be the ongoing focus of my life. I am incredibly passionate about sharing the benefits with others because I have felt and seen the changes in myself.

I started teaching Hot Yoga in 2011 as my “fun-time job” while working as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. I knew one day my career would change into a more holistic approach to health and well-being. Yoga is a huge passion for me and I love teaching it. I find great joy in guiding students through a better understanding of themselves because the more we know ourselves, the happier we can become.

I am currently in school at the California College of Ayurveda as an Ayurvedic Health Councillor Intern. This means I‘ve completed the course work and it’s time to put what I’ve learned into practice. I work with clients to better their lives while I am being supported by an Ayurvedic Specialist to discuss your healing.

Thank you for joining me on this journey to better health!

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda translates to the “Science of Life” (Ayus = Life, Veda = Knowledge/Science). It is a system of prevention and healing that is more than 5000 years old. This natural system of medicine is deeply connected to the yoga tradition and is based on the belief that health and wellness depends on a delicate balance between the mind, body and spirit.

Ayurveda looks at who you are based on the dominant elements in your makeup. The five elements are Air, Ether, Fire, Water and Earth. Every person is made up of all the different elements in varying quantities. The quantity of each element will determine your dosha- your personalized Ayurvedic road map to a healthier you!

When the doshas are out of balance, disease and illness can creep into your life. Ayurveda recognizes that the digestive tract is the first place that imbalances arise in the body. If the issues are not dealt with at the level of digestion, they will move to other parts of your body causing different problems.

The aim of Ayurveda is to heal the doshic imbalances so you may live a healthy and happy life. Knowing yourself and knowing how to create balance in your life with proper lifestyle choices will keep you balanced and happy. Ayurveda is the key to success!
